In this project we aimed to work on Turkish coffee in terms of its relevance to the Turkish culture, supersititions and the history of coffee in general. Turkish coffee is very popular among people in Turkey and it has its roots in history dating back to 500 years. In this project we aimed to see how the habits of men and women differ from each other when it is time to have a refreshment, Turkish coffee, as well as their attitudes towards this favorite drink of all Turkish nation. In this project we also aimed to search what are the other things related to such as fortune telling done by reading the grounds of the coffee left in the cup, and the meanings of these symbols. On the other hand, we aimed to create this project for the non-native drinkers to have some background knowledge about Turkish coffee which they enjoy drinking.
P.S: Our inspiration was our gatherings and meetings for a drink and have fun by reading our coffees to one another =)). We hope you enjoy reading the project.

I think that your project perfectly reflects the turkish people’s essential and invaluable tradition. I like coffe very much especially when I was with my friends. Its taste and smell is wonderful and steal me away. You included the tradition of coffee and coffeehouses in Turkey. I read the general beief about ‘fortune in a tiny cup’. When I am with my friends and drink turkish coffee, almost every single time we have conversation about fortune telling. As you said iin Turkish culture, coffee cup reading is very popular fortune-telling way. A fortune teller speaks about both the past and the future. I like the sentences because you guys included both sense for sense and word for word in appropriate places. i did not see any sentence that sounds bad. I like your word choices for this specific and detailed project for example; telve and falci. By the way, I like Meltem’s future plans about me (: thank you for your project. ‘Bir kahvenin kirk yil hatri vardir.’. Therefore, your project has a great value for me :)
